Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack...what the hell Nintendo...

So, as you all know and love to hate, Nintendo Switch has this online service called Nintendo Switch Online, where you get to play online games that use a peer-to-peer connection, play obscure NES/SNES games, have cloud storage, get useless deals, and use the useless smartphone app, all for $19.99/year. It's pretty much a useless service and exactly copies what Microsoft and Sony are doing. Now we have this "big" expansion for the Switch Online service. Let's see what they have to offer:

        1. Nintendo 64 games

Okay, so this is pretty expected. I mean, we have Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, Mario Tennis, Yoshi's Story, Mario Kart 64, etc. We also have upcoming ones like Banjo-Kazooie, Paper Mario, Mario Golf, Majora's Mask, and a whole lot, so that's cool. We also get to buy the controller, which one question, why the hell would you do that in the first place? Now we get to the next console Nintendo revealed:

        2. Sega Genesis games

Okay look I know I'm going to be attacked by Sega fans when I say this, but this is an absolutely useless console that Nintendo could add to this Expansion Pack, why? You can already play Genesis games on the collection for way cheaper, hell, there's going to be a Sonic Origin collection coming to the Switch for fuck's sake, so this makes all of this completely unnecessary! Why, why, why? Okay, let's get to the last thing this Expansion Pack has...

        3. ACNH - Happy Home Paradice DLC

What useless DLC to promote the Expansion Pack. What was Nintendo thinking?! And to rub the salt to the wound, you can buy this separately, so this makes it even more unnecessary than Genesis games being on the Switch Online service! If you're going to promote an expanded online service, you don't shamelessly put in a DLC and turn around and go, "Oh you can buy that separately also lol", that's being a scumbag on another level.

But I'm not done oh no... the price planning... is the shittiest planning I have ever seen. And that's saying a lot. But bare with me.

The pricing plan for a single user is $49.99/year, and the family plan is $79.99/year. $50-80... $50-80 a year Nintendo??? This is a new low.

Now I get it, the regular base pack isn't all that mind-blowing, but at least it's cheap. $19.99/year I can get through. But for the Expansion Pack to be $49.99/year isn't worth it. And it's like a ripoff if you saw the ACNH DLC being included, which again is unnecessary because you can already get it separately for $24.99.

Honestly, unless we hear more about these "new benefits" from the Expansion Pack, don't bother paying that much. In fact, just avoid it and get the regular base pack for $19.99. This is all I have to say about this mess. I'll see you guys when I make a new blog on this site.
