Bob Iger Returns as CEO of Disney

Well, this was something not a lot of people saw coming, myself included. Robert A. Iger, who served as CEO of The Walt Disney Company from 2005 through 2020, is returning as Bob Chapek steps down.

To say that this took me by a bit by surprise is an understatement. The only reason why I knew about this ironically enough was because of Twitter trends on my feed. I decided to Google it up, and when I saw headlines just popping up from major MSM sites like Deadline, CNN, etc., I was a bit blown away by it (hell I thought this was some kind of prank by an impersonator account on Twitter, but that's for another day).

And even though people are celebrating the fact Bob Chapek is now leaving Disney (which to an extent, I find that a little bit satisfying because he did do some things that made no sense at all), I think we should keep in mind that Iger is the same person who did a lot of acquisitions over the years that turned the company into an acquisition machine, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

So will anything change? Not really much in my opinion, I have skepticism that Iger can turn a 180 on Disney. I mean for all I know he might buy Warner Bros. Discovery or something in a few years and make it out as "We saved Disney!" or whatever.

But who knows, maybe he might try to save Disney with good intent. I don't know we'll see, but that's all I have for today, and I'll talk to y'all next time.
