Bob Iger Returns as CEO of Disney

Image
Well, this was something not a lot of people saw coming, myself included. Robert A. Iger, who served as CEO of The Walt Disney Company from 2005 through 2020, is returning as Bob Chapek steps down. To say that this took me by a bit by surprise is an understatement. The only reason why I knew about this ironically enough was because of Twitter trends on my feed. I decided to Google it up, and when I saw headlines just popping up from major MSM sites like Deadline, CNN, etc., I was a bit blown away by it (hell I thought this was some kind of prank by an impersonator account on Twitter, but that's for another day). And even though people are celebrating the fact Bob Chapek is now leaving Disney (which to an extent, I find that a little bit satisfying because he did do some things that made no sense at all), I think we should keep in mind that Iger is the same person who did a lot of acquisitions over the years that turned the company into an acquisition machine, you know exactly what ...

Warner Bros. Discovery and NBCUniversal could merge by Early 2024. [UPDATE]

Image
UPDATE [9-28-22] : So, it's been confirmed by WBD's CEO himself, David Zaslav, that any kind of talks about a merger with NBCUniversal or any other company will not happen. This is what Zaslav had to say on the subject: We are not for sale...We have everything we need to be successful. On that matter, the original post will still be preserved for you all to read. --- [9-16-22] You read the title correctly. According to some analysts, Warner Bros. Discovery could fold itself to NBCUniversal as early as April 2024 after they're done with their corporate restructuring (or cancelling a bunch of projects to cut $50 billion in debt). Okay, that may not be a lot to take in, but the idea itself is already a very, very big sign that maybe, just maybe, this is a bad idea even on hindsight. And the reason why this is bad is already written on there: Monopolization . How in the fuck have some of these executives not realized that the Disney-Fox acquisition is a sign on what not to d...

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Wave 2 is here, and it confirms a datamine leak.

Image
Hi, So this was originally going to be posted back on July 28th, but I decided to wait until bigger news websites like Nintendo Life to report on it, and they did , so I'm deciding to publish this now as a bit of a smaller and simplified report about it. Welp, the time if finally here, Nintendo unveiled the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 2 DLC. And for a quick opinion, it doesn't look that bad. Hell, the visuals looked like it improved by a whole lot, not by MK8's visual territory, but enough that doesn't look ugly in general like the first wave. I mean take a look at these courses: Very amazing, anyways. This DLC confirms a datamine leak that surfaced when the DLC released in March. Well, what am I talking about? Basically, a Twitter user by the name fishguy6564 did some cracking that makes the game collect prefixed data from the files that were left by devs working on the DLC and place them in the upcoming cups if they're selected. People speculated that this is just te...

So, let's talk about that Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.

Image
Ahh, Nintendo. They're definitely the strangest company in the gaming industry. If you think you figured out their plans, they'll pull off a u-turn that you won't expect. This is one of those times. Basically, June was the busiest month within gaming. Tons and tons of announcements from the Summer Game Fest, that Microsoft Showcase, and that Sonic Central showcase that we don't talk about. We expected Nintendo to do a Direct within the middle of June, but that turned out false. And then we heard leaks and rumors that there was gonna be one on the 29th. Obviously, that was a day off, and it was entirely focused on third-party games for the system. How was it... It was surprisingly better than I thought. Basically, these Partner Showcase when they began in 2020 had huge negative feedback. Thankfully, when the last one came on October of that year, they actually managed to turn the ship around, and it turned out fairly decent. This one however, managed to make the past Pa...

A 1-2 Switch Sequel is apparently real....

Image
Yes, coming from fanbyte, 1-2 Switch sequel is real and that it's a load of horseshit. My response? Don't even waste your time and money on it if it's real and just buy Mario Strikers Battle League or something idk.

The Disney/Fox acquisition 3+ years later. Time for an actual opinion about it. (+ Update)

Image
Hey! It's been some time since my last blog. Sorry for not being that active on here, I never had any intentions beyond the Nintendo 2022 thing I'm still making (or put on hold for a bit). But I'm making it up, after this blog, I'll be doing more smaller blogs that go into more of my opinionated stuff on movie and gaming subjects. I also have a separate blog coming up where I'm planning on doing media review and a new blog series that I'm going to do (the last couple of sentences from that Sonic Origins blog was a tease).    (Hi again, so this is another update, I decided to change my one of the statements that I written since it actually gotten a bit too out of place on a blog about a acquisition, so I apologize if you had to see it (if you did).)   So, I'm gonna stop the talking, here's the blog of my opinion about the Disney/Fox acquisition: Wow. 3 years since Disney decided to wake up and play Monopoly. So this is kind of a dead subject since the dea...

Nintendo Direct Games of 2022 (Part 2)

Image
So, Nintendo finally showcased some new Nintendo games coming this year. And you know what, I'll go on and say... It's actually alright. Yeah it wasn't anything too awesome and shit, but there's some games on there that left couple of fans excited, including me. Let's get off to Part 2 of this Nintendo 2022 Blog. Mario Strikers: Battle League Already kicking off with one of few big highlight announcements of the show. Mario Strikers is back baby! As someone who hasn't played the soccer game on neither GameCube nor Wii, this looks like to be a good start to try out the series. And while I'm exited... I'm also optimistic. You see, Mario sports have a really bad rep on the Switch. And it all comes to releasing the game in some form, and finish it later via updates. It's unfortunately a common thing a lot of game studios do regardless if they're big or not, and it really sucks. And okay, I understand the argument that some do offer them for free and...
